Quilting Complete!!

Tada!! I've officially went from never quilting to a (almost finished) QUILT! I successfully bought all my fabric and other essentials on Saturday afternoon, started cutting at about 5:30pm my mom was over so I made her dinner then started laying the quilt out and started piecing together till about 11:30pm I had finished the top and basted the quilt.

I followed a pattern which looks like this below:

The pattern called for 4 patterns so I chose a black candy corn one, orange with boo! and two other patterned halloween ones.

It was super easy! Almost all my lines matched up with each square on all the rows and on the ones that didn't match that's where the tie off's went. That's right tie off's I don't have a walking foot yet (but I just ordered one) so I couldn't quilt the quilt or finish the quilt binding yet either. But I am still very excited! Because as soon as that walking foot arrives I'll have a quilt all my own!!

I even had a spare pillow that we aren't using from an old comforter set so I made a pillow cover! It was a close call because on the back because I ALMOST sewed the whole thing closed! Luckily then remembered "How am I going to get the pillow in?" So solution! I looked at our new comforter set with the throw pillow cover and made an opening in the middle and even used some piecing and made the opening with that!

Adorable!! I'm in love!

My boyfriend has been a supporter of my new hobby and so far so good he was concerned though because I made a halloween quilt. His question/statement "We can't use that all year!"

My solution: I'm making a quilt for each holiday!! YIPEE!! Crazy I know right but hey if I can finish this is a day well more than a day but I piece, basted and put the binding on I can surely make a thanksgiving one, christmas theme, valentine's theme, st. patty's theme, summer theme, and fall theme right?! Here's to a busy winter.

I am so impressed with your quilting! I made a blanket a bit ago with the help of my grandmothers friend and cherish it!
