Everyone has done lots of posts about the weather and how they hope spring comes soon. Well I live in Sacramento
and if you don't about our wonderful little cow town as they say, here's some facts:
On average, there are 73 days on which the daily maximum temperature exceeds 90 °F (32 °C) each year, and the all-time record high temperature is 115 °F (46 °C), which occurred on July 25, 2006. On average, the daily minimum temperature drops below 32 °F (0 °C) on 18 days each year. - From Wikipedia
Which means I don't know if I'm too excited about Spring because after spring comes those record high temperature days. Luckily for me I'm a cubicle kind of girl so I don't have to work in the heat. Unfortunately my honey does, he works as a Glazer:
A Glazier is a construction professional who selects, cuts, installs, replaces, and removes residential, commercial, and artistic glass. Glaziers also install aluminum storefront frames and entrances, glass handrails and balustrades, shower enclosures, curtain wall framing and glass and mirror walls. - Also from Wikipedia
So he has to work out in that dreaded heat with the sun beaming off the glass and reflecting back onto him and his co-workers. Needless to say we own a ENDLESS supply of sunscreen. But I like him with a tan so it helps his base. Lol..
Anyhoo onto my story, I also can't wait for Spring time, even though those hot days are coming right after.
Last year during Spring we did an overhaul on our front yard. We bought our house in September of 2008. We dealt with the home builders landscaping which was a few random bushes thrown into the front yard and they call it a day. So as we are starting to plan out our backyard overhaul here's what we came up with for the front yard last year.
Here's the before, we already pulled some bushes out, added a queen palm and planted box woods next to the driveway and added a Japanese Maple in as well as took all the other bushes we didn't like out and the bark.

We headed off to good old Home Depot and bought A TON of plants! We started arranging them around and figuring out what should go where. Sadly, I ended up having to go out of town for the whole week, so my honey had to plant EVERYTHING. That includes my precious flower border I wanted so badly (and that I said I would plant). I left and had to wait till the next weekend to see what our end result was...

He did SUCH an amazing job!!
I was so worried surprised I wasn't sure how it would come out. The flower border was freshly planted so the blossoms don't show as well, but they got HUGE and it was so beautiful spending time in the front yard (with this being a new house our back yard has a 3x3 concrete step and the rest my friends is DIRT). I told him that the flower border was an annual plant so we would have to replant them again year after year.
I originally picked out Impatients but the guy at Home Depot said they weren't good in full sun. But I have seen them at houses with full sun. So we ended up getting a different type that look just the same as Impatients that would last (or not) through winter and into spring.
Right now they look like little weeds, I don't know how a flower is going to sprout from them.
This is why I'm awaiting Spring flowers and nice SUNNY weather days. I want to see CROSS my fingers if the guy at Home Depot was right or if I'm going to have a upset honey. I already told him I would replant new flowers.
What are you most looking forward to with the coming of Spring?

Very nice-what an attractive home. I like the topiaries by door. May I suggest a wreath or something on that order bringing some of the color from the landscaping up onto the door
