Aside from the strange weather this week and next week it's pretty nice here in California! Nice enough to hit the pavement this week for the first time! I'm not a runner. PERIOD. If there's not a soccer ball and a girl to knock over in front of me then psssh no thanks. But this cute bundle of love makes me want to run.
This was in his slimmer days, so of course he needs to run too!
Staying inside and getting treats adds some lbs to him and mommy.

That's right folks I ran outside, while I was running I remembered back to when we first moved into our house. I took Drake on runs walks and was trying to push myself just to make it to the next street light before walking. Yesterday I ran the WHOLE time. Literally didn't stop at all I drove the path I took yesterday and I ran 3 miles!! I'm so inspired that I'm signing up for a 5K on June 6th! That's right me, Jenn, anti-runner is doing a 5K. Helps that you get cool swag though from entering the race!
Here's what I might try doing this weekend. I said might.. That's a big might.. Interval SPRINT training...
This interval training involves sprinting, so run as fast as you can. But this workout can be a little confusing, so before you start, mentally divide the track into four equal quarters since you will be running 100-yard sprints at different points around the track. This is not a beginner workout and you should have a strong running/aerobic fitness level before doing this workout.
Warm Up
Four slow laps around the track
Dynamic warmup
- 20 high-knee marching steps
- 20 booty kicks
- Skip 20 steps
- Skip with kick 20 steps
- 20 heel walks
- 20 toe walks
Jog 400 yards (one lap at most tracks)
Sprint 100 yards
Recover* 400 yards
Sprint 100 yards
Recover 300 yards
Sprint 100 yards
Recover 200 yards
Sprint 100 yards
Recover 100 yards
Sprint 100 yards
Recover 400 to 800 yards
Repeat workout one more time! (Or just collapse and quit which might just be me on the track.. If you see me please help)
Cool Down
Jog two laps
Stretch
*You can walk or jog slowly during the recovery period
EEEEEkk... I don't know about that repeating business but I have a high school right by my house which means easy access to the track and Drake could use the extra burn? Lol I'll use him as an excuse "Oh look the dog is tired we should stop". I wonder if I can convince my honey to join me.
Pray for me I don't know what I'm about to get myself into.

I don't run at all, either. It's just too hot and humid here.
I wanted to share this with you: http://scrapsnscribs.blogspot.com/2010/05/passing-love-along.html
I am so not a runner! I wanted to stop by and thank you for your sweet comment about my storage shelving.
Good luck! I was only a runner for a short period of time and I did something sort of like you are explaining when I was getting started, which did make it a lot easier.
Stopping by to welcome you to SITS!
I was NEVER a runner, thought it was the WORST thing to ever happen when I had to do it for training in hs...and last year I started losing weight after baby #1 and doing spinning and it inspired me to do a run. i signed up for a 5k and when I got there on race day I had actually signed up for a 5 miler....BUT I FINISHED IT!!
Running is awesome...can't wait to hear about your training and the race!
