Weekend Showers

The weekend came and went like that! Thanks to a busy but not too busy schedule. Friday night I stayed up all night sewing! What's new right? I'm too exciting, I know I need to stop with all my crazy antics. But really I sewed a bunch more onesies and hair clips a lot of the same variation that you saw recently.  All for this special new baby girl. I also tried out a new "preppy" applique with argyle.

Saturday morning, instead of sleeping in like I planned, my wonderful Harley decides for me that he's not letting me get beauty sleep.  Instead he wakes me up at 7:14am both Saturday and Sunday! He is up to some crazy stuff lately.. Why you might ask? He must think he's a genius because Friday night I got home and this is what I found.

Harley: "TOYS! DRAKE - I FOUND THE JACKPOT!!"
Drake: "Good Job Brother, Good Job!"

Harley found the jackpot of toys, instead of the coffee table looking like this..

We keep the toys in those wicker baskets. It looked like this..

They were empty on the floor, the two of them were some happy puppies Friday until we got home.

Here they are fighting over them like there is a shortage of toys.

After waking up early by Harley on Saturday I headed to spin, then I headed out to this fabulous shower that Rachelle's sister Andrea and friend Samantha put on.  Look at how amazing it all was!! These are two crafty, cooking, baking sewing ladies! They just started a blog too!! Check them out here at Crafty Batches!
Here's some pictures of how adorable this shower was. I couldn't help but take lots of photos it was soooo cute!
The inside of her house decorated with yummy sweet treats!
Outside had lots of snacks
Plus yummy alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
The Mommy to Be! Plus Mommies to Be!
Check out their blog Crafty Batches to see all the other fun stuff the two of them make!

After that I headed out to a Chili Cookoff in the area and met up with his parents and brother along with some friends.  We arrived too late though because the chili was all gone but his parent's friend's won 2nd place again for the 2nd year in a row!! I can make a mean chili and I really wanted to taste some but next year!
At the Chili Cook Off

Yesterday I stayed home and finished up a quilt that needed to be finished asap! The quilt is for another expectant mom to be as her baby's receiving blanket and her memory for the shower her friends threw.  Since they knew I'm a quilter and needed some help I was very happy to help out and finish the quilt for her.  The idea was that at the baby shower everyone would hand sew the quilt top squares together.  We got a good amount finished at the shower but the rest I finished piecing together then and yesterday I finished the quilt sandwich and binding.  It's all ready to be sent out but I can't help but add some more goodies into the box.
The stages of the quilt.  Which went from piecing, to quilt sandwich, binding to finished!

I also made some more fabric rosette clips! I am wearing the red one today and I wore the pink one at the baby shower.

And I'll have to apologize ahead of time I am SUPER busy this week so hopefully I'll post some more but if not don't hate me! I have a YUMMY recipe coming though for Wednesday!
