Slider Style Mini Burgers

Happy Hump Day! Or my Thursday since I'm taking a half day tomorrow to go see Funny Girl at our local musical theater with my momma.  It's my first musical play that I've seen in years! Apparently daytime plays are cheaper and during the week which makes sense.

Anyhow here's the recipe for the day! I have to apologize I didn't take photos because I wasn't the chef the night we made them, but this recipe was DELICIOUS!

I got the idea because last weekend my honey bought a bunch of the Hawaiian dinner rolls. (he's addicted to them I tell ya).  Hopefully you know what they are, because those delicious little buns that have so much flavor your missing out if you haven't heard or tried them!

King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls - YUMMY! And they come in Wheat! Still equally delicious!

So after he proceeded to eat the whole pack to himself after a day or two, I suggested we try out Sliders for dinner! Of course he loved the idea so we took the bikes out for a cruise to pick up the items needed  from the store. You all must try this recipe asap! Your honey buns will loveeee it!

Slider Style Mini Burgers

I found it on AllRecipes.com as usual. We were going to half the recipe, but thankfully we didn't because we ate almost all of them.  Yes it makes 24!  (We actually didn't make these according to the recipe) but I demand next time I do this to the specifics below as I think they would have been even yummier!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) envelope onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 24 dinner rolls, split
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Mix together the ground beef and onion soup mix in a large skillet; cook and stir over medium-high heat until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Remove from heat. Stir the mayonnaise and Cheddar cheese into the ground beef mixture.
  3. Lay the bottoms of the dinner rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the cheese and beef mixture on the bottom half of each roll. Replace the tops. Cover with another sheet of aluminum foil sprayed with cooking spray.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until the burgers are heated through and cheese melts, about 30 minutes. Serve with sliced pickles.
I sadly didn't take any photos because I was busy sewing my life away in my craft room.  My honey made these on the grill as little patties instead of on the stove top and oven.  Making them into patties made only about 16 little sliders on the grill, but it will definitely fill up 24 on the stove top.

He was skeptical about the pouch of onion soup mix, because he loves his homemade seasoning that he uses daily on every meat possible.  But that weary face turned into a big smile after he had the first slider because it was delicious!

Here's the end result if you do try this and follow the instructions exactly!

If your a fan of White Castle Cheese Burgers then these are right up your ally.  They were so yummy! I'm totally going to make them for a back yard bbq soon!

I love the rolls, but don't eat burgers all that often (only turkey burgers) Crazy, I know! I don't know what it is... but these look small and cute, so I might have to try them. I think I just might get intimidated by the big, thick, juicy ones! (why can I hear my husband saying "that's what she said" right now?)

And I think it is absolutely adorable that y'all rode your bikes to the store. That is so neat :)
