We started off at the livestock section (better to get it over first) where we saw some unique looking goats. He had polka dots!

Petted a few of them, here is my honey who didn't want to look at the camera because he wasn't sure if the goat would bite him or not.

They like their heads scratched just like our dogs!

Look at this little poser he smiled for the camera

These guys were fighting over who is the king of the hill

We then headed over to the best part of it all! Baby piggies!!

OMG how freaking cute are they! These ones were only one day old! Did you know they are now designing baby pigs because people love them so much? Apparently you can get them in Europe and Asia.
If you remember I planted my vegetable garden from seeds. What I didn't ever get a chance to tell you was that we knocked over the seeds and they all died. Correction, WE didn't knock them over, my honey buns did. Yes I wasn't too happy but turned out we didn't get the garden all wrapped up in time to plant them anyways, for now I'm mooching off friends gardens. But take a look at these gardens that the State Fair had!
HUGE corn! We tried corn last year and they didn't look anything like this. We must have been doing something wrong.
They also had Chardonnay grapes

They also had romaine lettuce, strange how funny it grows. We have salad with every dinner and romaine is our leaf of choice.

Then we headed over to the wine section to find out what the current gold medal winners were.
Along the way I spied a Hydrangea!

I'm currently obsessed with these and I'm planning a full fledged attack on any bush I see with them. Literally I have shears in my car and I'm going to cut them off bushes.
I might knock and ask if I can before hand otherwise don't be surprised if you see bushes in Sac with no hydrangeas.
Mmmm, they had a sample table where I tried lots of Rieslings! Found a new favorite to purchase Fetzer

We ran into our old roommates, with her two kiddies who got so BIG!
I remember when he was shorter than me!

We moved along to the rides, but of course this is a new one I've never seen. Have you ever wanted to feel what a hamster feels like? Well you could have tried it here! I don't know what they called it but it looks like a hamster ball to me.

We were waiting patiently to start riding the rides. Me and this girl rode about 3 or 4 crazy rides and I totally lost my voice yesterday from all the screaming I did.

Me and my honey

Okay don't laugh, but this is my on a ride, I look crazy, like I'm possessed by the ride devil or something.

Over all a very successful trip to the State Fair.
We also signed up were suckered into signing up for a free 7 night cruise after you go and do the 90 minute presentation for their timeshare. I had friends and family who have done this and it totally works so we did it. FREE 7 day cruise from Long Beach to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarata? Um ya I'll take a 90 minute speech for that. The meeting is in Napa so we are going to make a day of it and do wine tasting too!
Yesterday we had quite the Sunday Funday! We rode our bikes with our friends to have "lunch" at MVP's for some yummy sandwiches. Well lunch turned into cocktails, cocktails turned into pool and pool turned into dinner and ALMOST dessert.
We rode across town to a bar in Old Sacramento called O'Mallys. Where we played Buck Hunter! He shot the most of course but I blame that on the fact that we haven't gone to shoot clays yet!

Had a few beers
Him and his good old beer in the photo! I think he finds it funny to do this now :)
We then left and rode our bikes to R15 and played a few games of pool. They had these cool looking rooms with lounge chairs and flat screen tv's. I've been here a handful of times but never saw these.
We tied 1-1 on pool!
To wrap up the weekend we rode our bikes to Uncle Vito's for pizza and my favorite Thai Fries from Pronto! OMG they are delicious. Crispy shoestring fries with sweet chili oil, jalapeno's and cilantro!
Fair Food & Sunday Funday ='s waking up and gaining 5 lbs this weekend. Umm ya that's for sure.. I hit the gym hard this morning and will tonight too!
And on a sad note.. Remember our new family member, Free Willie who I introduced you to last week?
RIP Willie
7/24/10-7/29/10 (Dates I owned him)
I came home Thursday night and he wasn't with us anymore. I'm so mad! I don't get it! I've been told I can't get anymore fish until I get them a proper bowl with air bubbles in it. Yes folks he lasted 6 days. I swear I don't do anything to these fish! I feed them, I clean the bowl, I chat with them from time to time, I don't know why but I just repel fish?
Anyhoo I'm starving so off to have breakfast! I have a handful of projects to complete this week!
