I’m afraid of ET!
Yes ET as in the little alien everyone thought was so freaking cute and adorable back in the day. I say NOOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYY JOSE! Go phone home and leave me alone…
eeew eew eew eew eew gross.. sooooo gross…
Obviously I don’t have this weird hatred of ET for nothing…..
So here’s the story behind it all….
It was about 1989 maybe earlier and I was at my Auntie Nancy’s house. (Literally I remember it all)… We had our regular family dinner I want to say we have ginger beef and broccoli my favorite then we watched ET afterwards. Well little did I know that I was about to meet ET the next morning after watching this. I didn’t have any nightmares that night, but I woke up rather early and had to go potty. (Yes potty, I was a little girl that’s what it was called).
So I’m sitting on the potty and I look into the mirror which reflects out into the hallway. It’s probably early morning so it’s not bright out yet, and ET WAS WALKING DOWN MY HALLWAY!! AND INTO MY ROOM!! (Insert me sitting there on the potty in terror scared to go back into my room.) I don’t remember what happened after that………
All I know is, for the past 20 some odd years, I have still run down my hallways at turbo speed at my parents house with all the lights on in the house because I swear ET is living at my house. We have really long hall ways and each area of the house is far apart that I would leave all the lights on so he couldn’t surprise me and I was always getting in trouble for leaving them on.
But seriously.. If you found a ET in your closet with your precious stuffed animals wouldn’t you be freaked out?!!! YES YOU WOULD! Don’t lie.. He’s weird..
H to the double hockey sticks.. Get away from my toys… I’m getting freaked out just looking at this photo.. EEEW you better phone home and leave my house..
Insert your laughter here… I know it’s funny and I don’t even know if anyone else I’ve ever met has a fear for ET they all think he’s so cute. AHEM no.. So laugh all you want I will never watch ET with you ever.. period.. ha lol.. Good times I’m happy he returned home but he must have a twin living at my house.

I cannot laugh since I was scared of him in the movie when I was little too. Weird thing is I loved him other than that, but I think because it was like him alive in it, I freaked, screamed and covered my eyes the entire time. I was such a wuss. Meanwhile it was because of me we all went to see it. I also had this giant stuffed ET which I loved but at night I use to get scared of it.
OMG! One of my best friends is totally scared of ET! That and the Gremlins haha! I always used to laugh cause she was the only one i knew who was scared of him! So i guess i can tell her that she isnt alone anymore! Then my other best friend is scared of clowns and worms!! Like even regular earth worms, she will freak out!
Myself, I am scared of bees and spiders. Well, spiders i can kill them, but i freak out... Bees on the other hand, i hate those things! I will run and scream if they come near me! haha!
I know what I am getting you for your Christmas!! Haha!!

I'll second that fear! I've been scared that little brown alien is going to come around a corner and scare the you know what out of me. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one still scared of him Ugh!!

Oh my gosh- I am so scared of him too! Everyone used to always think I was crazy for thinking he was scary, but I used to have nightmares about him! And I always thought he was going to be hiding in my closet!
Found your blog from Katie's link up...so cute! And I may have laughed, but I definitely agree, ET is one scary guy!
I remember when ET came out I was about the same age as Drew Barrymore's character. ET freaked the HELL out of me...I was convinced he was in my bedroom at night. And the part of the movie when he got sick and turned white?! Blech and trauma all at the same time.

This is so funny! I HATE ET as well, I think because my parents showed it to me when I was just too young-I think I was about 3 years old. I have been traumatized every since and all of my friends make fun of me for it. I am glad I'm not alone!
Yeah all of this really is true. How can you trust a guy who looks like that and chills in your closet. Can;t lie that I run and jump into bed still because I'm a tad bit afraid of the dark haha...real mature mom of 2! More like afraid of whats under my bed or in my closet ready to snatch me up.

ET freaked me out when I was younger too - not maybe this bad but to this day I have a huge fear of aliens and alien abduction!
