Okay okay so I’m behind on my 30 day blog challenge.. Yes yes I know.. Sorry geeze! I had such high hopes for myself but I’ve fallen behind. This is going to be quick little day recaps of each item.
Day 2-Meaning Behind Your Blog Name..
Well as creative as I may appear, I’m not very creative in the naming department, so I took the location of where I am = West Sacramento and then added Honey onto the end.. Ya.. see told you not very creative. I wish I had a snappy fun one but I don’t. This was my very first blog design I made and my oh so snazzy header.. Kidding yes.. Hopefully you have fun saying “Oooh did you check out the recipe on WestSacHoney?” Yes I’m sure you all do that right? Ya okay.. moving on..
Day 3-Your First Love
I’m going to go ahead and say my hair.. Okay okay… that was really vain of me… But I’m more talking about discovering hair in general. I used to have my girlfriends over at the age of 8 or so and we would have Jenny’s Hair Salon and I’d curl their hair with rollers or curling irons. Do makeup, highlights (yes I said highlights that’s another story), eyebrows and more. I knew I should have just gone into cosmetology school it’s always been my one true love.
See me with rollers oh so long ago..
Day 4-Your Parents
My Mommy! (I only call her Mommy.. and the occasional Mom)
I love my mommy! Enough said. We have weekly lunches every Thursday and although she has now adopted our family pet Snowball as her second daughter and given Snowy my old room I still love her.
My mom comes from a family of 6 brothers and sister. Here she is with her brother (middle) and my Auntie Nancy (right). I know where I got my dancing habits from.. My mom she can bust a move with the best of them. I still hear stories about her adventures in her 20’s. Favorite thing awhile back about my mom is that she LOVES R. Kelly. Yes R. Kelly she didn’t know the whole story of R. Kelly but she LOVESSS his Step in the Name of Love song.. She has a whole CD my uncle made with the song on repeat like 10 times so it just plays over and over.
Me & My Dad
Here’s a more recent photo of me and my dad. We’ve always gotten along but we don’t see eye to eye on alot of things which makes everything harder between us but that’s what parents are for looking to see what you don’t see. This was at his wedding a few years ago. My parents divorced in college my sophomore year and he recently got remarried. I always figured he would where as my mom is a happy camper living without a man in her life. But when I found out he was getting married I was overwhelmed with emotions I remember crying for hours and I wasn’t upset but it was like that sealed the deal that the rest was history.
Day 5-Your Siblings
Well Johnny was 8 years in the waiting to become a big sister. I was rather disappointed when I heard he was a boy, so of course there were aimless years I tortured him and dressed him up in my girl clothes, not to mention my high school cheerleading outfit he was about 8 at the time, he knew what he was doing maybe I’ll show them to his girlfriend soon.
But after all this time (he’s 17 now) I’m happy to say that we are getting along much better. Being 8 years apart in age is hard, really hard. There’s such a big age gap that you don’t have anything in common. I was going through the teenage years and he was my pesky annoying little brother. But thankfully we’ve both grown up and he’s become quite the strapping young man.
He plays water polo and he’s a mean tough player, I love watching his games, he even plays goalie.
He’s finally outgrew his funny smile phase. We would have to make him laugh in order to get a good smile photo otherwise it was some funny weird smile very awkward. He finally has an appetite for anything, we were both quite the picky eaters growing up.
He’s even become quite the little romantic one bringing flowers to his girlfriend awhile back. Which my mom then told me… “Jenny, I gave him money for gas and he got his girlfriend flowers. He doesn’t even give me flowers! So I basically bought her flowers!”
Finally about 2 months ago Johnny has officially been set out into the open road by getting his drivers license and his own car. The same car I used to drive when i got my license our dad’s Honda accord.
Day 6-A Picture of Something That Makes You Happy
This was the day my honey brought home our new bundle of joy! My Harley Boo! He’s obviously very excited and I can’t help but want to SQUEEEZZE the little guy every time I see this photo. Harley is my first dog that I’ve ever owned on my own and it’s such a joy to come home and be welcomed every day by each of our bundles of joy, Drake and Harley!
***Wheeew.. Are you still with me? Hopefully otherwise I’d understand why you left too.. I was quite behind..**
Day 7-Favorite Movies
Harry Potter ALL of them… I’m afraid to think of others I really really really love Harry Potter… Ask my mom she knows my horrible addiction to these movies.
Twilight
Disney Movies in General:
Lion King (Watched this yesterday and sang everything the top of my lungs)
TWISTER (I’ve been watching storm chasers and was reminded how much I love Twister I need to get it from my moms house)
Sex and the City
Stuart Little
Side note: I wasn’t allowed to watch any movies of substance EVER until like college. So any movie you think is a CLASSIC.. I’ve NEVER seen.. Dancing with Wolves, Ghost, even so bad as Sandlot, Goonies etc I’ve NEVER seen.
AND that’s my 2-7 day recaps! Now I need to get the photos I want to use from my mom’s along with Twister so I can get on top of day 8 for vacation spots!
