Ten years ago I was told that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed. Yes TEN years ago. I was 17 and a chicken shit. I have uncles who are dentists so I just asked them to look at my x-rays and they both said they were coming in straight and I could keep them. So well ya I kept them who WANTS to get their wisdom teeth out if they aren't a problem?
My teeth technically aren't even bothering me AT the least.. I sometimes bite my cheek at night while sleeping. So had my routine dental cleaning last week and they said I should get them removed. I for some reason think SURE let's do it this FRIDAY! Yes as in TWO days from now.
It's a simple extraction of all four teeth none of them are impacted so they just need to pull them out. I pretty much am prepared for the mental side of things. I do however need to stock up on jello, pedilite and some protein shakes to get food into me.
For comedy reasons I'm going to have my camera for my mom to take video of me waking up from general anesthesia. Never have been under general anesthesia so I don't know how it will go but it might be funny to watch a few weeks from now.
This chick is pretty funny
Then there's always unicorn girl..
Cross your fingers everything is okay and it's a simple extraction. Let's also hope the swelling isn't crazy and I can look halfway decent on Christmas day.
And if your also thinking why am I getting my wisdom teeth removed Friday before Christmas... Good ole' INSURANCE.. I need it to come out of this years allocated money. BOO! I also have a personal day to use by the end of the year and then I have Monday off so 4 days of healing should hopefully do me good.
Anyone have some good tips on what to eat after I get my teeth out since I'll be on a liquid diet?

15 Lovely Notes:
Good luck! I have wisdom teeth I should get taken out too... but I'm scurred. LOL
ohh i hope you'll be ok!! thats not great before christmas!! x
Bye bye wizzies!!!!! Hope you post your video when you wake up from anesthesia!!! Hilar!!!!
I had all four taken out 13 years ago and my face didn't swell at all. Oh, it was 2 days before T-Giving. I didn't get to eat too much, but it was nice being "waited" on!!!
Mashed potatoes! Luke warm of course :)
I just had my wisdom teeth out a little over a month ago! They gave me a care package that consisted of mashed potatoes, gauze, and one of my teeth. Smoothies will be your friend and same with mashed potatoes or soup. Good luck girly! With the anesthesia, you'll be down for the count for a few days so be prepared! :)
Man I dreaded doing this! But I lived on Jamba Juice. It was the only thing that sounded good at all. When actually food started sounding good after a few days, I ate a lot of cream of celery soup )not sure why I felt like this particular kind since I never ate it before then!). I was down for the count for a good 4, 5 days...but my fiance was eating steak a day later. So it all depends on the person. Hope it's smooth sailing for you!
Good luck girlfriend! My experience was horrific:( I'll spare you dets.
Good luck, I've never had mine removed but my sisters did and they were talking crazy afterwards. lol
"Good ole' INSURANCE.. I need it to come out of this years allocated money" - I hear ya on that! I hope it goes well and can't wait to see the anee pictures. It is so weird to be under and come back up!
Good luck friend, your a brave soul! The dentist scares me LOL. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you & you will be back to yourself in no time :)

Oh no! I hope everything goes well and that you'll be able to eat some of Christmas dinner!
Honestly, I didn't really feel like eating for at least week afterwards... it was just too much work and effort and not worth it to me! Granted, I had 4 wisdom teeth removed- all HUGE and impacted, so my case was a little severe, but I just remember having a constant headache. One tip, when you think you're fine to start eating "normal" foods again, wait one more day... I ate a cracker too soon, and set myself back another week at least. The cracker didn't taste THAT good :)
