We woke up Friday morning after staying out till 5am and dealing with sleeping on an airplane - we finally woke up at 1pm. I woke up next to Nataly and asked what time it was not expecting her to say 1pm. But yes it was 1pm. The whole morning has come and gone. We were well rested so it was okay.
We decided that we would wait for our other friend to arrive the next day before going to sight see around the city so today was just spent wandering aimlessly around the city and ended with a good tanning sesh and party at our apartment just the three of us.
We left to wander around the neighborhood and headed over to the famous market La Boqueria
In our apartment we had like four flights of stairs to walk up and down each day since we were on the third level but this level was essentially level zero....
We're up there somewhere..
Strolling along the streets.. Cars actually drive down these!
We ended up in Placa Reial again and found a faster way to get there too..
Off of La Ramblas is La Boqueria - GORGEOUS.. It is such a pretty outside market!
The presentation of all the fruits, veggies, sweets, juices, seafood were gorgeous! So vibrant!
Lots and lots of fresh fruit - we snagged some fresh fruit juice each morning after this.
Such adorable presentation! 2 Euro for a nice little fruit pack to go!
Lots of meats and cheeses! We at this point made our plan for the evening. We would go tan at the beach the rest of the day and nap. Then come back later and grab food for the evening and stay inside and have a wine and cheese party!
So cute! I loved the market!
Smelly seafood!
Ham! or Jamon! :) Delish!
We left and wandered over to the beach after the market
Such beautiful architecture everywhere in Barcelona. I love the arches in this photo.
Me and my lovely new Irish girlfirend!
Who knows what this is.. Seemed like a good idea to take a pic with it.
We walked along the beach front and there's lots of little restaurants right on the beach. We didn't eat at this one but one just like it!
We were starved by this point we only had juice from the market and it was like 3pm.
Kiera was back on board to drink. Nataly and I originally thought we didn't want to but then her beer came and it looked delish.
Afterwards we scouted out an area to lay out at..
Very busy beaches!
We posted up and tanned for a few hours
Nataly fell asleep but Kiera and I decided to keep drinking..
Which meant taking up the offers of the vendors who walk along the beach selling mojitos. Of course we got some! We ended up getting sangria mojitos - quite tasty..
Obligatory beach pics!
So we didn't plan very well so we didn't have any towels to lay on but we had our suits on so we just laid out on our clothes. It looked like we were prepping our outfits for the night.
The water was nice and warm actually. Quite salty though..
We packed up and walked back to La Boqueria
Passing the harbor on our way back..
Strolling the streets!
La Ramblas is a tree lined pedestrian only street.
Cars are allowed on either side but the entire center is all walkways. Very touristy..
Then we walked back over to the market and grabbed a bunch of things to eat! Lots of cheese and meat!
Nataly is a vegetarian so we grabbed some vegetarian paella from this Organic spot.
We picked up a baguette to accompany all the cheese and headed back home
Homemaker Jenn - I prepped the cute little spread for the evening
That wine was delish! I think it was like 4 euro!
Then we had our veggie paella to go with it..
Then we commenced in dancing to the Wobble..
We showered and just hung out all night.. We missed our WiFi so of course for a good 15 minutes we were all silent on our phones.
But then after that we played Heads Ups on my phone and it was hilarious..
This was the first try..
