Fabric Flower Rosettes

After all this blog surfing and seeing everyone's cute posts and/or stores on Etsy that have Fabric Rosettes on their shirts, necklaces, headbands etc.  I wanted to make some of my own!

Now mine didn't turn out as fabulous as these ones above, but I finally whipped a few up last night.  It was my first run at it so after I finished I was loving how cute they turned out.  I found a tutorial online, from Made By The Mama Monster.   I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but I've been obsessed with headbands lately.  But I didn't have any white headbands around and was running out of energy and needed to hit the sack.  So I attached it to a barrette that I had lying around from another project.  The rosettes are alittle to wide or heavy so they don't lay or mold flat enough for my liking on the barrette.  You can't tell in the pictures but they are on a barrette.

For the rosette on the left I used one full jelly roll strip.  But then I thought it was alittle big so for the second rosette on the right I cut the strip in half, but I think that was still too big, when I make these again which I'm sure I'll be doing this weekend I am going to make it half of a half jelly roll strip so they will be more petite and smaller rolls. But for a first try they came out pretty cute! I want to grab some ribbon and make a necklace out of it that would be super cute!
