Happy Friday Ladies! This past week I have been dipping my toes into a hot room every few days and trying out Hot Yoga! Whew, your hot, I'm hot, let's get hot, to be hot..
Hot Yoga is a series of yoga poses done in a heated room. The room is usually maintained at a temperature of 95-100 degrees. As you can imagine, a vigorous yoga session at this temperature promotes profuse sweating and makes the body very warm, and therefore more flexible. - From About.com
I have been a yoga advocate before taking classes this past week, but I've never actually tried Hot Yoga. The place where I went keeps their room at 87F degrees not as hot as Birkham, but then add in some people and deep breathing that room was steaming hot when I left.
I tried out their morning class at 6am, I conveniently had my own mat ,thanks to mom's birthday present a few years back but it hasn't gotten any use till now. I wasn't too overwhelmed when stepping into the room, I just thought "Hmm pleasantly hot but not bad" took my spot and started to stretch. The first day went really well, my legs were sore from the workout the prior day but I ended up getting through the class and remembered everything pretty well and my legs felt great after.
Skip forward 2 days.
I went to class last Friday after work. YIKES! This time I sat in the front of the room (because the back was taken) saw a mat next to me but didn't know if it was a guy or girl. Ended up being a guy who (EEEW: Started PICKING his feet GROSSSS) sorry I've been traumatized by that ever since, you are now too.
This class was packed and I forgot a towel. Don't forget a towel, especially if the class is full. I really liked this teacher and like a lot of people say make sure you try out tons of different teachers if the first didn't work out. With more people in the room I was instantly dripping sweat withing minutes of starting.
Aside from dripping sweat and weird guy next to me I really enjoyed the whole experience of Hot Yoga. If your new or haven't tried yoga before I would defantely recommend trying it out. After I finished each class I felt a sense of renewal and freedom with myself and life. Sounds strange right? I know.. But I guess that's what yoga is all about.
Not to mention that our favorite celebrities are yoga freaks!
Are you unfamiliar with it? This PDF from FitSugar is SUPER handy! I actually have even been doing a few Sun Salutations before bed and it REALLY relaxes me and helps me stretch out before bed.
This was exactly what we went through in class and even a few others but if you stick to this your golden!
P.S. Not to mention my skin is like A-MAZING now.. It's like a Sauna and Exercise in one. My pores even look smaller! Oh ya also I tried doing a video this morning to show you all the rollers and curly hair demo.. My cameras officially hate me. I'll try again this weekend maybe.
A Little Hot Yoga Anyone?
Have you tried it?
Are you a fan?

I completely know the feeling you talked about immediately following Yoga... I love it!
Hot Yoga has always looked fun, I'll have to try sometime.
I've been trying to find a place around here to try out hot yoga! It seems really great! Glad you enjoyed it...minus the feet picker.

I've never done yoga at all but want to so bad! I just feel intimidated by the whole thing because I'm not that flexible lol. I'm afraid everyone in there will be experienced. I'll have to try a class at my gym soon though.
I have tried it and am totally a fan. I didn't stick with it though but may try it again sooN!
I totally want to try this, but I am afraid I will pass out!!! I think I may do a few regular yoga classes first and work my way up to this!
