Welcome Birdies

Look at what we have in our topiary outside of our front door.  A little birdies nest.  We noticed we had lots of twigs and branches outside the door since our dogs have to go out front since our backyard is all dirt still.  (More on that later).  When we finally noticed we had some new little friends living at our house.  They are little tiny birdies but within the last 4 days the girl has laid 4 eggs.  One each day.  This was taken yesterday when there were three.  But I checked this morning and now there's 4.  Interesting how that works.

They are cute little tiny eggs for now, which I'm okay with but birds do start to make quite a mess once hatched.  We'll see how that goes, hopefully they won't stay too long because I'm rather fond of our clean front doorstep.
Here's where they are, they picked the top ball for their nest so it's quite small.
They are up there hiding inside my pretty topiary, they are such cute little tiny blue speckled eggs.
At my parents house we had a duck lay her eggs in the middle of our island next to the pool, it was cute to watch all the little duckies learn how to swim because that's right where they fell when they hatched.  We had to make a step so they all could get out of the pool.

Anyone know how long it'll be till they hatch?

I'd rather have birds nests though instead of wasps nests.  Our area is FULL of wasps we have to have the lawns sprayed monthly and knock all the nests out of their hiding spots. Otherwise it's a horrible time spent outside.

The same bird comes back to my house every year and makes a nest but I haven't seen her yet this year. I think it is so sweet that they chose your house. I love watching it!

So cute!! I'd freak if I had a wasp's nest anywhere near me. I do NOT like stinging insects!! I'm a new follower from a girl with pearls... and I happen to live right across the river in Land Park! :)

Aww! YAY! That will be fun, but be careful....they will make a home there and that could get annoying, messy and loud!

i think that might just be the cutest thing i've seen in a while!!! sweet baby birdies by your front door, you lucky girl!!! please take pictures (if the momma birdy lets you and doesn't take your head off while trying to do so) so we can see what the little loves look like. TOO CUTE!!!

ps - be careful my dad got ATTACKED (he was find, but his head got a few peltings, he said it was seriously like out of a cartoon) by a blue bird when he unknowingly got a little too close to her nest :)
