Nature at it's Finest

If you've been reading with me for awhile you might remember I mentioned we have a little birdies nest in our front porch.  Well I was getting alittle fearful that they weren't ever going to hatch because that was almost 3 weeks ago that she started laying eggs and sitting on them.  But fear not friends we have some new little birdies occupying our front doorway.

I checked on them on Sunday, still no baby birdies
Then yesterday I came back from work and TADA!
They are a little strange looking, I've never had any nests before so this is a first time seeing new hatch lings.
Two were hatched out of 5 yesterday, I checked again this morning and we have the third one.

Only two more to go, strange thing though the eggs they hatched out of are gone? I guess this momma bird knows to clean her mess up? Thankfully I wasn't sure how it would turn out if there would be a mess everywhere but were only two days into it so far.

We must have a nature sanctuary at our house or something because here's a picture of our friendly pheasant that talks up a storm every day.  We finally got to catch what he looks like we were sure he was a "cock" aka male pheasant.
A hen flew in the other day and he went off to find her like white on rice.  We caught the photo of him because they just plowed the 300 + acres that are behind our house so he was out walking the scene.

Our flowers that we have in the front yard are really coming into bloom.  But these are our perennials, I really need to get my act together and get my annuals flower border going asap!
On an upside of not having a flower border we're getting concrete poured in about a month they are going to start forming the yard soon.
Not sure what type of flowers these are but they made it through the frost and they really fill the yard up with color.

I didn't take too many photos this weekend, but we had our friends over for BBQ and game night.  We played Apples to Apples for the first time which I was skeptical about but it ended up being hilarious as they say it will.  Then we switched to my personal favorite Catch Phrase! Girls win as always 2-1 over the boys.  It's the girl psyche we can read each others minds without even saying what were thinking.
See my snazzy headband?! I made a TON of them this weekend!
I'm going to be starting Etsy soon!
We didn't tell her what we were eating for dinner. She did ask if they were Moose Burgers, but we said no they aren't Moose.  She loved it then her hubby told her that they weren't just a regular burger, they were Elk burgers.  She got alittle mad because we tricked her, but she was okay with it. But hey she asked if it was Moose not Elk.  P.S. she scored those BRAND NEW SEVENS at GOODWILL!! I don't have the patience to look through all the jeans but she sure did and it paid off.  For $5 dollars she got a brand new pair of Sevens!  I tried looking through jeans at Goodwill yesterday but made my way to the regular stuff house hold things to repurpose.

I found a cute fabric to possibly make pillows out of for the patio once we get concrete, all for $1.
Then I found a real jem, a bag FULL of ZIPPERS for only $3.99!! There were tons of cute unique colors! You know what this means?
You'll be seeing lots of zipper flower crafts here soon.

Sunday I had my backseat driver with me while we went to visit my mommy for mother's day.  He normally always rides in front with me but on Sunday he was taking it in from the back seat and I could see him in my mirror looking at me.

Of course I didn't take any photos on Sunday but I made 2 of my Banana Cream Pies, one for my mom and one for his mom.  They were a hit!

And finally, guess who I met last Friday at the station?
Lifehouse!
They did an acoustic set of a few of their songs and we got to hear it right there in person! They were super sweet guys very nice.  They were opening for Daughtry here in Sacramento on Friday.
