My mom and her best friend she hadn't seen in over 20 years! But they kept in touch like they never left..

It's my ever so wonderful, amazing, gracious, loving mommy's birthday today! We're headed to lunch here shortly. While I might have moved out and live on my own my mom and I still meet up every Thursday for lunch and/or shopping. Thursday is also known as my mom's shopping day. In the morning she shops and I get phone calls ranging from any one of these questions (which makes me love her even more)

  Do you need a dog harness?
  Do you need white thread?
  Do you need a new pair of black close toe shoes?
  Target's having a sale can you stop by yours and pick up 8 packs of christmas lights?
  Target's having a 70% off sale do you want a white v neck shirt? How many?

  Here's some stuff I bought for you last week.. (this happens every Thursday when we meet for lunch).  I'll have a bag of goodies to bring home.  (Wait for it I'll post what she has for me today)  Although I turned down the dog harness last week so I don't know what she might come up with I'm guessing an Allure Magazine because my Auntie got 2 subscriptions by accident. 

Bottom line shopping or no shopping, I love my mommy,because she's my mom and that everyday she makes me smile on a daily basis without even being around her.  Because everything I do on a daily basis, I'm reminded of my mom because she did the exact same things and instilled those in me.

So we're off to lunch at our favorite past time lunch spot... Sizzler.. Yup that's right.. I think they have the best clam chowder hands down.  It's her favorite and mine (for buffets that is).  I'm surprise she didn't pick mexican food because I was craving mexican but she said she wanted a salad.  Next year is her big birthday and she said she wants to go on a cruise! Count me in Mommy!

On the topics of Mommy's.. What do you call your mom, mother, mommy, mama, first name basis? I had a friend that called her mom by her first name it was really strange to me but it is her name after all.  What about Grandparent's? What do you call them or what do your kids call them? I used Nana and Papa and then my Chinese grandparents were Pau Pau and Gong Gong.
