I went to our local Trader Joe's because I was craving TJ's and picked up a Whole Wheat Pizza Dough and then decided to have my best friend Wendy over to join in on the fun and have a girls night in dinner.
We didn't really have a recipe but we knew we wanted a Margherita pizza. Easy ingredients too! She brought over the mozzarella, basil and pasta sauce and I supplied the rest. Here is the results!
Per the direction on the pizza dough bag it said to take the dough out and knead it on a floured surface then let it rest for 20 minutes.
Make sure you have a best friend like Wendy to come over and provide entertainment while we cook.
Here she is with the mozzarella which she says don't skimp out on and buy the cheap stuff the $$ is better!
Here's the cheese we used
Aprons on and we're ready to make some pizza. I rolled out the dough while she sliced the cheese and pressed a TON of garlic cloves.
Once we got our pizza dough to the size we liked I pressed in fresh crushed garlic into the dough. We probably used about 10 cloves it was really garlic-y but that's what we like.
(Are you loving my mat? It's Tupperware from AGES ago, my mom gave it to me I used to make cut out cookies on it years ago as a little girl)
We then spread EVOO on the dough before applying the tomato sauce. A recipe we were kind of referencing said to use tomato sauce but why use that when pasta sauce is more flavorful?
She picked up a Safeway brand Arrabriata sauce.
Here's the rest of the ingredients we used: Pasta Sauce of choice, EVOO, Crushed Red Peppers, Italian Seasoning, Feta Cheese and Parmie as I like to call it.
After I put the red sauce on I sprinkled it with Italian seasoning and red peppers alot of it. Then started to put all the sliced mozzarella cheese on top.
Action Shot!
Making all the cheese look pretty on top.
Looking yummy already!
Then we decided to add MORE crushed garlic on top of the mozzarella.
We went for a super cheesy pizza so we also added on the feta cheese.
Then Parmesan cheese.
Then we put a bunch of sliced basil on top. We initially thought it wasn't enough basil so this was the whole bunch we thought would work.
Me and our pizza
Wendy and our pizza.
We baked it for about 20-25 minutes on 350 or 400 I can't remember, just follow your dough directions.
And hello finished product!!
Almost all the basil was non existent after it was cooked, so we added on more basil before serving.

She's ready for some pizza!
Viola! Here's one slice of (3) that we each devoured. It was sooooo delicious!! I am salivating at the thought of it right now. Maybe I should have her over again? We can make another one since we have plenty of basil and sauce left over!
Wendy? Dinner tonight or tomorrow?
(She says she reads my blog every day, so we'll see if that's true even though I don't doubt her)
P.S. Wendy - I left my phone at home this morning so call my work or Facebook me.
So go grab a girlfriend, boyfriend, hubby, friend, family whoever and make some pizza because this was DELICIOUS!
