I’m always behind when it comes to these things… So lets just do some quick recaps from Aly & Molly’s Blog Hop for the 12 Days of Christmas..
Day 4: Tips/Tricks to a Budget Friendly holiday season
Just don’t buy presents.
Sorry friends but don’t expect anything from me you should know that.... Times have been really tough the past two years well three years actually, which meant we cut out presents all together.
For the past two years we’ve done nothing for presents and I tell ya it’s actually the hugest relief not to spend money every year for presents. We just show up with some grub and our smiley selves and hope that’s enough.
Day 5: Favorite Holiday Movie/TV Show Special
I love Christmas movies, at any point during the year you’ll find me watching Christmas movies. Here’s some that have recently hit my DVD player this past week.
Tonight while sewing up a storm for my Open House this weekend, I’ll be watching either Home Alone or The Polar Express.
Day 6: Gift ideas ... For ME!!
This is sooooo easy.. I usually am horrible at figuring out what I want but this past year I know exactly what I want.
A New Camera! Specifically a DSLR please!!
I almost made it home with one on Thanksgiving my uncle upgraded his to the higher model and hinted he doesn’t know what to do with the old one. Yes please your god daughter would love a new camera. My family is far to generous he is the one who actually gave me my present camera I use. He also hooked me up with a new battery for my point and shoot because it was dead. We’re Chinese we have 5 of everything.
A EReader! Nook vs. Kindle?

Help a girl out.. What are you thoughts on these? I’ve been reading on the differences but I don’t know yet which one I want. My honey is even asking me which edition I want so apparently he’s done his research he already knew some had Wi-Fi and 3G and others didn’t.
A new sewing machine!! Not sure what kind but a snazzy one indeed.
I looked at some cheap ones at the store and they will just not do. I’m in trouble, apparently the sewing machine I sew on currently is the Mercedes Benz of sewing machines so switching to a cheap $99 one just won’t do AT ALL.. Realized that when I took a turn sewing on it and starting asking millions of questions of why the machine doesn’t do this, and this and this and this…
Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume!
This smells yummy I’ve had a tester of it forever and keep wanting to buy it but perfume is not cheap.
As much as I really want all these things.. They are just things so I’ll take what I can get and be appreciative of it through and through.
Day 7: Holiday Craft/DIY
Let’s reference back to last year when I made this beauty!!
Sadly, I have no idea where I put this at because I never ended up even using it last year. I have to put it out this year but first I need to find it. Made it using this tutorial.
Day 8: Least favorite thing about the Holidays
My least favorite things about the holidays is hearing what everyone got. That sounds selfish, but since times are tough we don’t buy presents.
So when people ask me at work or friends “What did you get for Christmas?” and I say nothing and you respond, “Oh..” it’s just plain not fun hearing about it and especially when I ask you what you got and you list off a monster sized truck full of presents. I mean sure I get a sweater and a stocking stuffer and probably a bottle of my favorite hair spray but I don’t expect to get any of the above most wanted items on my Christmas list but a girl can hope.

11 Lovely Notes:
I want a DSLR too! I got a Kindle for my birthday and I love it! YOu can even surf the web! It is really cool!
I love the ornament wreath! I want to make one this year!
I adore you first and foremost. But what I love about you is your modesty and honesty. Times are tough for everyone, regardless if they want to believe it or not.
I think no gifts is a great idea! Something I need to cut back a little on as well! I always feel like I need to give a gift to EVERYONE!!!
I have a Kindle and LOVE IT. I don't know much about the nook but the fact that it's in color now is pretty awesome.
I didn't give very many gifts last year... I baked a shit-ton of cookies and bought cheapie trays from like the dollar store and gave those to everyone. It was really inexpensive, and very *me* and heartfelt, since I love baking for others!
Your wreath is great! I really want to attempt one!
Good for you guys for not doing presents, sometimes I think Christmas gets carried away with gifts. :)
Hope you had a happy thanksgiving. I want to make one of those ornament wreaths :)
I so want a DSLR camera too!
Oh, The Polar Express is one of my favorites!! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving pretty lady
I really like your wreaths you made -- hope you can find them!!
I totally agree with you about hearing about what people get! I didn't even think about that!! It is really awkward!!
