Seriously.. Why must their summers in Chicago be so amazing. If it was like that year round. Sign me up, pack my bags this gals moving to Chicago. But alas it isn't. Their winters are horrid but I've been told that's why there are so many bars because people just go to bars all winter.
Anyways - me and the fam bam the Chinese side to be exact my mom, auntie's, uncle's and cousins all loaded up and flew to Chicago last week for my cousin's wedding.
It was the first cousin to get married on the Chinese side of the family. It was my first time to Chicago along with my mom's and we loved it.
I was named the official tour guide since I had a list of things to do from friends and I am happy to say I accomplished all of them!
Wednesday we flew out at 5:30am (AGAIN!) why am I okay with booking so early? I have no idea. I slept 2 hours and got there are 1pm CST. We checked into the hotel and then it was such a nice day out I was told that the architectural river tour was a must.
We stayed at the Hyatt at McCormick Place - alittle far south for my taste but we were able to hop the bus with a three day unlimited pass for the buses and EL which was nice. Took about 30 mins to get from our hotel to the main part of the Michigan Avenue.
Me, Mom and Uncle
We headed on down and were able to snap some really pretty photos. The weather was spectacular while I was there. I was told that the week prior was SUPER hot.
Mom and Uncle
Me and Momma
Auntie and Matty
We hoped on the Shoreline Tour and thank goodness they had a bar. I was down there in seconds.. Whoops!
Also was able to score a sweet hat..
Such a neat city how everything is over bridges!
Taught mom how to use my SLR with pretty good practice
Auntie and I
This woman and my mom is the reason for my craft genes!
Looking at the Willis Tower
I then drug my auntie down to take a pic of me and learned why it's the Windy City..
Windy, windy, windy..
Yup not gonna work..
Back to the important things like my hat and cocktail
The Trump building in front of us..
NBC - Work while on vacation? I think not..
Overall a really fun way to hop right in and see the city! The tour operator said to go check out a pizza spot so we took him up on his recommendation shortly after.
Matty and I - He's my little cousin.. Get it little.. Ya right..
The gals
Chicago has really pretty street ways with lots of flowers everywhere! It was such a gorgeous city!
We left and went to Lou Malnati's and OMG delicious..
We ordered the Malnati Chicago Classic
OMG and this salad the Malnati Salad.. HOLY moly it was so good. I liked it better than the pizza and it was because of the crumbled Volpi salami.. YUM! Hit it up if you go there!
Deep Dish!
I'm hungry just looking at these..
I enjoyed a tasty 312 beer by Goose Island - that stuff was tasty! Need to see if my BevMo or Total Wines carries it.
Afterwards we wandered down the streets and found ourselves a firestation..
I just helped myself right into their Engine..
Standard..
That's not the first time I welcomed myself into a firehouse.. LOL..
We were beat tired.. We headed on home around 10 and then I hit the sheets HARD.. Passed out in seconds flat.

3 Lovely Notes:
Sounds like a fun trip! I could use some of that pizza right about now! HAHA!
I'm moving there in the next month or so and am so excited!!! Not really looking forward to the winters but you know what who cares! Reading this is just making me more anxious to get to my new "home" city.
Your making me want to move to Chicago! I've been there in the winter though and it's AWFUL! It looks like that river cruise was fun!
