The best part about living in the Sacramento Valley is that your close to everything!
So early August my girlfriend gave me a short notice that she's doing a limo trip to Healdsburg/Napa area to go wine tasting on Saturday.
She told me on that Thursday and I already had plans to wine taste here in Clarksburg on Sunday so that meant ALOT of traveling and ALOT of wine but YOLO.
So I did what any gal would do - I made it work! I traveled to the city via Mega Bus Friday after work to go stay with my girlfriend who was moving out of the country and then woke up early Saturday got ready and went to go on day one of wine tasting extravaganza!
We met up in the Safeway Marina grabbed sandwiches and snacks and hit the road
Our first stop was Old World Winery
They had chickens.. Wasn't too much of a fan of their wine. I like whites mostly and they were heavy reds. But I liked the Chickens!
I think the next stop was this place. I can only recall via the photos. Which means this was The Ridge!
Gorgeous property but didn't get any of their wine. I have a stock pile at home and didn't need more to be added.
They had nice areas to sit out and look on the gorgeous vineyards
Vineyards that one should always frolic in!
The birthday girl and I friends since 7th grade!
We tasted some grapes off the vine.. JK it was for show.. They are really gross..
We were very precise on time and headed out to the next stop Francis Ford Coppola
I was looking forward to this as you can rent out pool cabanas and swim. We weren't doing it but my friends always go so I wanted to see it first hand.
I actually participated in a market research study to which they paid us $25 bucks so my wine tasting expenses were paid for by them! Ha!
The pools.. Looking a tad wine-o'd
Oh yes we had a bunch of wine and champagne by this point!
Then we were off to our last stop Alexander Valley Vineyards which was a nice small cozy area compared to the others we had been to.
We enjoyed patio seating on their wrap around deck
I wanted to break into the cave but it was locked
We had adorable party favors in the form of wine tumblers!
After we got back we wandered through the Marina in SF and went to get some beers after wine.. Makes sense? We obviously needed burgers badly.
Marengo's on Union a bleu burger sliders! Tasty!
Then we were still starved so we headed to Osha Thai and I got some veggie rolls!
Finally I headed back over to my girlfriends that I spent the night at before and crashed and woke up SUPER early the next morning since I had to go back to Sacramento to get to day 2 of wine tasting!
That Sunday we went to Clarksburg's Old Sugar Mill because they were having a Wine & Cheese event! It was $25 bucks to go and you got lots of tastings!
These were straight from the barrel
He even let me try it for myself! I look very confused I was trying to get myself a full cup!
It was me and my girlfriends and then my friend from high school came with too.
We had 4 bottles to ourselves while listening to music. Things got alittle nutty...
It was a really fun event and I am totally going to go again next year!
Finally after a long weekend of wine I made my way home and crashed and there was Monday so quick again!

2 Lovely Notes:
Wine tasting is probably one of my most favorite things! Looks like a blast and the perfect weekend!
I keep wanting to try the Francis Ford Coppla winery! Did you love it?
