Easter is right around the corner, well not even a corner. It's straight in front of us. I don't have any Easter decorations either so here's what I ended up doing last night.
I recently bought these candle stick holders from GW for $1.99 each. They haven't been painted yet, but they are kinda just hanging out on the mantel, so I figured I might as well decorate them. I already have some other black candle holders so I'm going to paint these black to match as well.
I decorated the candles that I had on each with some paper I snagged up from Big Lots for $1 then tied them off with some twine to match the rest of my decor around the house.
Here's the other set of candles and their matching decor.
I used my trusty Cricut and made my first mantel banner. I have made some of these in the past by printing out letters from Word and pasting those on but these are cut from my Cricut using the Jasmine cartridge again in their charm feature.
I'm still at odds with how to decorate my mantel. It's been a hard one, we can't decide what to hang there so I've just been moving things around the house, right now it's REALLY empty but I kinda stand it alittle more with some decorations. Then I don't feel so bad about the mantel being naked.
Okay so my friend once told me never to put photos on a fireplace mantel because the chinese believe that your spirits burn if you put them above a fireplace. After that I haven't put any photos above ours, but I just tried to Google that and I didn't find ANYTHING!
Take that... Mantel your getting some photo love tonight that's what I think!
I also made some of these little twine balls! I bought all the others but I totally just made some on my own!
The two wrapped in twine, the one right here the white one and the other one I made out of styrofoam balls. I bought twine from the Dollar Tree and I already had stryofoam balls from GW for .49 cents. I made 3 of these and I still have more twine left over from 1 twine purchase.
We used to have more of these little decorative balls, but Harley found a love for them early on.
Now he's moved to socks... Example Below..
Here is Harley enjoying some clean socks after laundry day on Sunday. At least they were clean for once.. Ha!
I think you all should go out and make yourself some twine balls for cheap!
Such an easy decoration, my fingers are alittle burnt though from the hot glue gun and I even had it on low!

7 Lovely Notes:
Those candle sticks and candles turned out so pretty! And dang, that is a great deal on styrafoam balls- they are usually really expensive.
