As I mentioned earlier this week I stopped by my favorite craft stores JoAnn's and Michael's and had St. Patrick's Day Decorations on the brain. Well here's my first two finished projects!
I made St. Patrick's Day Throw Pillows
I have TONS of pillows in my spare bedroom just sitting there waiting for a purpose in life. You might have some too, these were from our previous bedding set and our new set came with new pillows so I had no use for these. Easy re-purposing project.
Here during Halloween they made their debut with new Halloween pillows, so I decided to do the same for St. Patty's Day. It was a easy project took about an hour each pillow and I was going to take pictures and how you how to make them, but my wonderful focus protesting camera didn't do me much help with making a tutorial. Which makes me want to buy a SLR even more!
Each back has the openings with matching fabric to slide your pillow in.
I bought fabric for Easter too so maybe I'll try again then, if any of you are interested. I'm also making some new throw pillows for the couch that aren't holiday themed but for everyday use, which I'm going to put tassels and cording on too. For all you snazzy decorating lovers if you want I can make a tutorial then? (Pending if I am happy with my final result).
Harley protested taking photos with them to make them extra cute because I was taking these before leaving for work. He knows when I'm leaving so he curls into a little ball and basically makes himself into dead weight so you can't pick him up properly so I therefore can't put him in his kennel. So they hopefully look adorable without him.
These were 15x23, and 18x18 pillows. I'm also adding on another one tonight. I just bought a 1/2 yard of fabric from two different fabrics along with 1 yard of backing fabric to make these. Easy project that only ended up being $7.50 total and I made 3 pillows and have alittle bit of leftover fabric too. I could probably make 4 pillows if I had a smaller one.
Do any of you decorate for the holidays?
I'm trying to start collecting decorations for each holiday since our mantel is bare still I can fill it up with random holiday goodies in the meanwhile.
